The first guest lecture took place on 14 November where Simon Knupfer spoke on „Third Party Funding in Investment Arbitration“. The second one took place on 15 November where Dr. Martin Jarrett spoke on "The Rise of Domestic Courts in International Investment Law".
Simon Knupfer is Case Manager at Nivalion and a Swiss qualified attorney. After his legal studies at the University of Zurich (Master of Law UZH) and the University of New South Wales in Sydney, he worked for the Permanent Mission of Liechtenstein to the United Nations in New York. Thereafter, he gained experience in international arbitration and litigation at the business law firms Schellenberg Wittmer in Zurich and Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in London. Furthermore, he worked as law clerk at the Supreme Court of the State of Graubunden (Switzerland).
Dr. Martin Jarrett is a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law. He formerly worked as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Mannheim. His main field of expertise is international investment law, particularly the topic of investor misconduct.
